Notes: Our Reclaimed Antique Chestnut beams celebrate the beauty of a species that endured a complete blight in the early 1900’s. Gone are the massive standing timbers of Chestnut trees as well as its nutritious fruit. The size of the chestnut trees allowed for the massive beams found in turn of the century factories and mills. Once milled into a floor or used as a beam, this wood brings a rich past into your future.

Attributes: Our Reclaimed Antique Douglas Fir is a dense wood that, because of its capacity to hold great loads, was used for both main load being beams as well as floors in large barns and mills. Douglas Fir brings a flexible design aesthetic depending upon how it’s sawn, from the rustic look of pine to the tight grained look of oak all at an affordable price. It’s noted for it’s muted peach hue and grain clarity.
Notes: Our Reclaimed Antique Douglas Fir is repurposed from both large beams and dimensional lumber in idle structures all over the North Eastern United States. Its exceptional value and varied looks allow designers to use larger portions of reclaimed wood in their projects while keeping the budget under control.

Native to the temperate climates of the northern region, our slow growing timbers have dense interlocking grain with long, arching patterns, a refined feathery grain aesthetic and small tight knots.

Once prevalent across North America, by the 1980s, nearly 80% of all elm trees were lost to Dutch Elm disease. Still to this day nearly every town in America has it’s own Elm Street which is lined by these giants. Our Reclaimed Antique Elm is sourced from repurposed structural beams in barns and mills to continue celebrating the Elm’s rich heritage.

Notes: Our Reclaimed Antique Long Leaf Heart Pine is sourced from factories and warehouses throughout the Hudson River Valley, whose construction dates back to the Industrial Revolution. Longleaf Heart Pine was once a predominant standing timber across a large span of the eastern seaboard. The prevalence and unique properties made it the most widely utilized timber in construction.

Attributes: Our Reclaimed Mushroom Wood is primarily Cypress but may include other softwoods such as Hemlock. Mushroom Wood is a distinct offering unique to The Hudson Co. It is timber that is repurposed from the bedding bins in mushroom growing facilities. During the mushroom growth cycle, enzymes digest and erode the soft wood grain producing an organic, sculpted effect. After the mushrooms are harvested the wood displays a deep-grained open texture and caramel hue.

Reclaimed Mushroom Wood is a locally repurposed material whose harvesting was pioneered by The Hudson Co. The wood has been a prominent feature of installations ranging from ultra-modern , up-scale Manhattan hotels to rustic Bayou restaurants. Mushroom Wood can be sourced in varying grades allowing further creativity to the designer.

A dense and stable hardwood, Oak is versatile and one of the most durable species. Oak’s open cell structure invites staining to your desired hue.
Notes: Our Reclaimed Antique Oak is most commonly repurposed from the structural members of historic barns and warehouses. Reclaimed oak offer a spectrum of figuring including knots, sap wood, cathedral grain, and “tiger striping”. Each timber traces its history through numerous saw kerfs, ferrous stains, nail holes, checking, and scarring.

Notes: Our Reclaimed Antique Spruce is primarily repurposed from local idle structures. When left to its original surface, antique Spruce is typically brown and lightly textured. When planed, it is knotty and lightly toned. A common species used for Christmas trees, our reclaimed antique Spruce is a gift for all seasons.

Attributes: Our Reclaimed Antique White Pine is a traditional floor that is craftsman friendly and lends itself well to varied applications. When planed, white pine maintains a cream to taupe coloration. The periodic knots, scarring, nail holes and ferrous stains speak volumes of its long service life. It has already lived for 200 years in one structure and is ready to serve in another for 200 more.
Notes: Our Reclaimed Antique White Pine is primarily sourced from local, idled barns of the Hudson Valley. When planed to a smooth surface the rich patina of its long history is revealed. When its original, weathered surface is maintained, its grey spectrum of color offers a wealth of aesthetic options.
